In dogs with this condition, the kidneys can’t properly reabsorb the amino acid cystine. As a result, high levels build up in the urine and form painful, often recurring bladder stones.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLevi has endured two emergency surgeries after becoming blocked and unable to urinate due to these stones.
